Tips and tricks for washing glassware
Protect your glassware and help keep it looking like new with these simple and easy dishwashing solutions.
Beat water spots. Clean and rinse glassware using the dish liquid and the hottest water possible. Hot water tends to evaporate more quickly, reducing your chances of spotting. Invert clean glasses on a towel-lined surface. Polish with a dry, lint-free cloth, preferably linen.
Avoid cloudiness. A cloudy film on your glasses could be the result of hard water or not enough detergent or gel in the dishwasher to soften the water. To clear away the clouds, try rubbing the glasses with vinegar. For your best stemware, consider switching to hand washing only to keep the glass clean and sparkling.
No more discoloration. You may find your colored or gold-rimmed glassware fading due to the high heat and strong water spray in the dishwasher. Protect colors by hand washing and some Dawn® Direct Foam. Just pump once directly on your sponge, and you’ll have enough suds to wash and entire sinkful of fragile glasses.
